2009 Ohio State Fair Llama and Fiber Show
Held at the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio, on July 23-25, 2009.
ILR Sanctioned Llama Show and ALSA Sanctioned Fiber Show.
Halter classes divided into 3 wool lengths and all ages.
Performance classes include: Showmanship, Public Relations, Pack and Obstacle for every age person and llama.
Alpacas have their own performance classes and are welcome in Showmanship classes.
Suri Halter classes will vie for banners again this year so bring them out!
Two show rings going at all times -- one judging halter (confirmation) classes and the other judging those "fun" performance classes!~ Produce-of-Dam and Get-of-Sire classes to show off those beautiful "offspring" of your female and male llamas back at home.
Those 'Grand Dam" and "Grand Sire" classes say THANK YOU to those older breeding llamas who are still producing but may not look top notch to compete with the younger llamas. These are 9 years and older.
Watch our beautiful little "crias" walk or run around the ring with one another in the "Mom and Me" class -- those babies born too later to make the juvenile class at the state fair.
On Thursday evening, after all the exhibitors settle in, they will be served a good supper so they can relax and visit with the other llama owners they haven't seen for a long while!
Following that, some fun activities like ....
Our "Fiber Fashion Show" where llama and alpaca owners model wool garment while leading their animals ... and Our crazy "Costume Class" where llama and handler dress up to a theme .... and Our "LLeaping Llama Contest" in which every llama and alpaca owner runs and jumps a hurdle to advertise to everyone that they support Life Saving Organ Donation. A Great Cause!
